OPINION:
Racists, terrorists and antisemites look to satisfy and justify their hateful ideologies in different ways for different reasons, all of them wrong (“Terrorists kill 15, wound dozens in brazen attack on Hanukkah celebration in Australia,” Web, Dec. 14).
Some antisemites hate Jews because they blame them for the killing of Jesus. Others hate Jews because they are jealous of their keen business acumen and the success it brings them. Other haters of the Jewish faith were raised by their own antisemitic families and know of no other ideology.
Antisemitism is vile, and so is racism. Both carry hate, prejudice and a desire to destroy.
Only the ignorant can truly believe that Jews and people of color are enemies of the world and should be removed from society, but these bigots are too driven by hatred to realize that they themselves are the evil enemy who will ultimately be removed from society and very possibly the world.
Will the hatred and killings ever end? At this moment in time, it is very doubtful.
