BALTIMORE — President Trump took part in pregame ceremonies and flipped the coin for the 126th Army-Navy game, the second straight year he’s attended the game.
Trump arrived approximately an hour before kickoff, making the short trip from Washington via helicopter in Marine One. The president flew over M&T Bank Stadium, home to the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens, before taking the field shortly before kickoff to a positive reception from the crowd.
The president saluted while facing the chorus of midshipmen and cadets that performed the national anthem before participating in the pregame coin toss, flipping the coin and shaking hands with both captains.
It’s the second straight year Mr. Trump has attended the game, which rotates sites annually and was played at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, last year. Mr. Trump also attended the 2016 Army-Navy game in Baltimore as president-elect and then three more times in his first presidential term.
Among the Cabinet members also in attendance at the game are Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was seen talking to a group of midshipmen on the concourse before the game, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
As they did last year, Army (6-5) and No. 22 Navy (9-2) are playing for the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy after both recorded 3-point wins over Air Force earlier this season. Navy won the trophy last year and has won it 12 times in the last 22 years.
