Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer said three of his New York offices were targeted with bomb threats in emails with the subject line “MAGA.”

Mr. Schumer, New York Democrat, said in a statement that local law enforcement informed him Monday morning about the bomb threats made on his offices in Rochester, Binghamton and Long Island.

The bomb threats came from an email address alleging the “2020 election was rigged,” and the email’s subject line was “MAGA.”

“Local and federal law enforcement responded immediately and are conducting full security sweeps,” Mr. Schumer said. “Everyone is safe, and I am grateful for their quick and professional response to ensure these offices remain safe and secure for all New Yorkers.”

The Senate minority leader said violent threats have no place in politics.

“No one — no public servant, no staff member, no constituent, no citizen — should ever be targeted for simply doing their job,” he said.
