Most Christians accept that Satan is a master liar and that he comes to steal and destroy. But how to fight him effectively? It all begins with knowing the truth and seeing evil as evil — something which cannot be accomplished without reading God’s word.

The devil comes with his lies and that’s the only way he gets people to do what he wants them to do,” said Jeff Schreve, senior pastor of First Baptist Church Texarkana and author of the new “The Devil’s Newsroom: Muting Satan’s Fake News and Tuning in to God’s Truth.”

Too many today are being fooled by the fake news of Satan, however.

“The old expression the frog in a kettle of water, you just keep turning up the heat — I think we’re living that as a nation and the things our forefathers wouldn’t have tolerated, we’re not only tolerating it, we’re accepting it,” Schreve said.

The number one question every member of the faith needs to ask is this, he said: What do you believe as truth?

If it’s feelings and emotions, not biblical truths — then Satan’s lies are going to be effective, he warned.
