Virginia just proved that common sense still exists in America. Earlier this month, the state board of health made it clear: Biological males have no place competing in women’s sports. That shouldn’t have ever been up for debate, but in today’s never-ending competition of who can come up with the dumbest idea in woke politics, it’s a move worth celebrating.

This isn’t about hate, exclusion or any of the other tired terms the left will claim. It’s about the basic American promise of fairness. We separate boys and girls in sports for a reason: biology matters. Every parent, coach and athlete knows it. When that line is erased, it isn’t “progress” — it’s as absurd as it is dangerous, and it’s a direct attack on women’s opportunities.

We’ve already seen the consequences across the country. Girls who have trained for years, sacrificed weekends, pushed themselves to the limit, only to watch their championships, scholarships and gold medals be handed to biological males. That’s not equality. It’s theft.

Claressa Sheilds, one of America’s greatest athletes and a two-time Olympic gold medalist, recently blasted the idea of men competing against women in boxing. She made clear she would never step into the ring with a man, because no matter how hard a woman trains, biology matters. Ms. Shields is a champion because she competed against women, and if she’d been forced to fight men, her career could’ve been stolen before it even started.

That is what is at stake in this conversation. The greatest irony is that the same Democrats who claim to stand for women’s rights are standing silent while women are pushed aside. They call themselves feminists, but they’re siding with policies that crush women’s dreams. They’re so obsessed with their ideology they’ve abandoned reality.

Virginia’s recent ruling is a reminder of what America stands for: equal opportunity, not guaranteed outcomes. Protecting women’s sports isn’t discrimination; it’s a defense of the integrity of competition.

This is bigger than politics. It’s about right and wrong. Virginia got it right; now, it’s time for the rest of the country to follow.
