President Trump announced the firing of Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook for alleged mortgage fraud — and like a broken record struck on repeat, attorneys for Cook have responded with a promise for a court challenge based on their view that the firing is illegal.

This is how the Democrats have rolled since Trump began his second administration. He fires; they cry to court. And meanwhile, the whole concept of humble service to the people is left in the dust.

When is the last time a Democrat or a minion of the Democrat Party has stepped aside from political office or public service with dignity and decorum? The question is rhetorical. We all know the answer.

“Democrats challenge layoffs as Rubio shutters USAID,” The Center Square wrote in July, a month before an appeals court found the White House can indeed cut billions in foreign aid..

“Congressional Democrats Fight Back Against Trump’s Attacks on the FTC and Independent Agencies,” Sen. Cory Booker posted on his Senate web page in April, in response to Trump’s firing of members of the Federal Trade Commission.

“Democratic Commissioners File Lawsuit Following Trump’s Firing,” the website Product Law Perspective wrote in May, about the court challenge — resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court in the White House’s favor — to Trump’s firing of three Consumer Product Safety Commission members.

“Educators, School Districts, and Workers Sue to Stop Trump’s Plan to Dismantle the Department of Education,” Democracy Forward wrote a few months ago, in response to the court challenge — resolved by the U.S. Supreme Court in the White House’s favor — to Trump’s mass layoffs at the Department of Education.

Remember that?

From USA Today in July: “The Education Department workers were placed on administrative leave in March and were to stop receiving salaries on June 9 before a judge intervened at the request of Democratic-led states, school districts and teachers’ unions.” Then came the 6-3 decision from the Supreme Court. Then came the firings. Then came this statement from Education Secretary Linda McMahon: “The Supreme Court again confirmed the obvious — the president of the United States, as the head of the executive branch, has the ultimate authority to make decisions about staffing levels, administrative organization and day-to-day operations of federal agencies.”

Democrats hate that.

They hate Trump. They hate accountability. They hate losing their tax-paid positions of power and influence.

So they never just go quietly, with dignity, with decorum, with any sort of humble expression of thanks and gratitude for the opportunity to serve the American people. Rather, they scream about their rights, rail against the system and find the loudest lawyer with the most media contacts who is willing to fight their firings in court.

What a waste of time and money and energy.

Every time Trump’s team has to fight a Democrat in court who doesn’t want to leave the job, it’s an expense to hardworking Americans. It’s a distraction from real American business. It’s an abuse of the entire legal system.

“The Federal Reserve defended its independence a day after President Trump moved to fire a member of its Board of Governors, Lisa Cook,” The New York Times wrote. “The central bank emphasized governors’ ‘long tenures and removal protections.’ … Cook is preparing to challenge her removal, which her lawyer called ‘illegal.’”

Well, maybe courts will rule in Trump’s favor on this one; maybe they won’t. But what’s assured is that courts will once again be tasked to spend precious time on settling a matter for yet another whiny and entitled Democrat who cares only for self and zero for service to the people. What’s assured is that taxpayers and American citizens are the biggest losers in all these Democrat-fueled fights.

Note to Democrats: You lost. Trump won. MAGA voters prevailed. Now deal with it like adults and stop wasting Americans’ time, money and patience.
