OPINION:
Most of us are familiar with the expression “Love is blind” and its meaning, that people often fail to see the shortcomings or faults in the object of their affection.
Today, it seems most Democrats are proving beyond a doubt that hatred is blind, too. For them, of course, this refers to inability to see any positive traits or actions in a hated person.
How else can we explain the outlandish negative responses by Democrats to absolutely everything President Trump says, does or promotes? For example, Mr. Trump’s administration is successfully strengthening our domestic economy and our trading position in the world. It is reducing crime by reinforcing and supporting our police and enforcing immigration laws. It is reducing and/or eliminating armed conflicts in several parts of the world. The majority our citizens approve of those efforts. What’s not to like?
Of course, I understand politics, and know that Democrats are not going to praise the successes of a Republican president and administration. However, in their opposition to the current administration, the Democrats are actually siding with and supporting criminals, criminal behavior and illegal, unvetted immigration. They vehemently oppose actions that have expanded our economy, reduced the cost of living for Americans and increased federal revenue with tariffs.
It is difficult for me to believe that Democrats don’t want this country to succeed. Rather, I believe they have been consumed by an irrational hatred of President Trump, and this has simply blinded their judgment.
