Achieving the American dream is still within reach — though not all have the same dream. Financial security, however, is pretty universal. And whether becoming a millionaire is the goal, or simply having enough money to pay all the bills suffices, fact is, the sky is the limit.
As Erik Weir, financial strategist, motivational speaker and author of “Who’s Eating Your Pie? Essential Financial Advice that Will Transform Your Life,” says: Anyone can be a millionaire.
“It’s just about thinking differently,” he said.
The problem is people set goals too high, and don’t follow them with the strategies needed to bring them to fruition. Another problem is not everyone had the best start in life.
“Some of us didn’t have the parents of the year,” Weir said, adding that children often learn a defeatist attitude during their formative years.
“So when you have those sort of thoughts as a child, they follow you into adulthood,” he said. “My first chapter is about giving you permission to dream.”
