Spare me the meltdown by the legacy media and the Democrats over President Trump using the National Guard to address Washington’s pervasive problem with street crime.

This same press corps  was silent when President Joe Biden deployed 25,000 troops to Washington before and after his inauguration, using the “deadly insurrection” as his excuse. Mr. Biden deployed the National Guard to Washington despite the fact that no one in the pro-Trump crowd was armed and the violence only started after the Capitol Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas into a peaceful crowd. In addition, the only deaths were of two Trump supporters.

Mr. Biden’s deployment of the guard was a continuation of his administration’s psychological operation surrounding its persecution of pro-Trump Americans. In addition to the troops, Team Biden also put up razor-wire-topped fencing and deployed metal detectors around the Capitol. During the deployment, the National Guard troops were forced to sleep on the concrete ground in parking garages for months. They remained in Washington until the middle of May 2020.

So, again, the left can spare me its angst over Mr. Trump’s attempts to get control of the streets of Washington. The power elites in our nation’s capital have allowed the daily carjackings, muggings and gang beat downs and shootings to continue unchecked for far too long.

Washington is America’s city and U.S. citizens should be able to feel safe visiting there. Kudos to President Trump for trying to make it so.
