The Dallas Cowboys are still the most valuable team in the NFL, worth $12.8 billion, according to a ranking released by Sportico on Wednesday. The rival Washington Commanders sneaked into the top 10 with a $7.47 billion valuation.

The Cowboys have been the NFL’s most valuable team for six years running. This year, they became the first club to break the $10 billion threshold.

The top-ranked franchises were mostly unchanged from last year’s list, as every team in the NFL saw at least 10% growth. The Cowboys are followed by the Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants, New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.

The Rams and Giants saw the greatest year-over-year valuation jump — 34%, according to Sportico.

The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets swapped positions. The reigning NFL champions rose to the sixth spot, while the Jets dropped to eighth. The Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders and Commanders close out the top 10.

Commanders owner Josh Harris has already seen his biggest asset appreciate since purchasing the team in 2023 for $6.05 billion. The franchise became 19% more valuable last year as coach Dan Quinn and quarterback Jayden Daniels led the team to its first NFC title game appearance in 33 years.

The Cincinnati Bengals remained the least valuable team in the NFL with a $5.5 billion valuation, still a 17% increase from last year.

NFL teams as businesses have evolved significantly over the last decade, and they’re going to evolve at a much faster rate over the next decade,” Marc Ganis, a consultant to multiple NFL teams, told Sportico. “Most of these teams understand that they are global brands. So, they’re operating differently, they’re structuring themselves differently and they’re hiring differently.”

The study also reported that the Commanders ranked second-to-last with $98 million in profits in 2024. The Cowboys, for comparison, raked in $490 million in profits, tops among the league’s 32 teams.
