OPINION:
It is so sad to see that the pope has aligned himself with the far leftists in Europe and elsewhere by speaking out in favor of open borders between the U.S. and its neighbors (“Pope criticizes walls while living behind one,” Web, April 6).
The pope’s province is faith and morals, which do not coexist with the chaos and anarchy let loose by open borders — borders that protect the peace, security and prosperity of the citizens within them.
To use his power and influence to open the gates of hell against our freedom and security is to strike a blow against Western civilization itself.
We are waiting to hear him say “Tear down this wall,” inviting invaders into the Vatican.
