If Justice Amy Coney Barrett and Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. are sincere in their efforts to stop activist courts from usurping the presidency (“Supreme Court finally step in to stop activist courts from usurping the presidency,” Web, April 8), it may be because they dusted off their copies of the Constitution and closely examined Section 3 of Article II. In that section, it is stated that the president “shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed…” (Note the imperative “shall..)

Activist courts have been interfering with the president’s constitutional requirement to enforce immigration laws. Any such judgements are unconstitutional by definition. It is good that the justices are finally affirming this and preserving the powers of the presidency.
