OPINION:
President Trump is trying to deport all the illegal immigrants who have been able to invade our country over the past several years. There are currently at least 30 million of them. The Department of Homeland Security is starting with criminal illegal aliens, such as MS-13 and other gangs (“Trump stares down judge’s deadline to un-deport MS-13 suspect,” Web, April 6).
U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis has ordered DHS to return a MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the U.S. from a prison in El Salvador because the man may face persecution by a local gang in the prison. Is Xinis trying to protect gang members? Is she aware of the crimes Abrego-Garcia reportedly committed in Maryland and Washington? Does she care about the people he has harmed?
Perhaps Xinis is trying to protect the illegal aliens in Maryland, just like Sen. Van Hollen and Rep. Jamie Raskin. These elected politicians have supported Casa de Maryland for years and have allowed illegals into the local communities. Why? Because they help the politicians stay in office.
Keeping Abrego Garcia in prison in El Salvador will send a strong message to his gang that its members are not safe anywhere. Xinis is wrong — and DHS either needs to leave this gang member where he is or transport him to Guantanamo Bay.
