OPINION:
A bill pushed by Democrats in Colorado would make it an act of child abuse to refer to a boy who’s actually a boy but who wants to be a girl as a boy — confusion much? — and similarly so for a girl, and to then allow courts to use this so-called “misgendering” as a crucial tool for deciding parental custody cases.
Call this the redefining of child abuse. Call this the redefining of evil.
The real child abusers are adults — parents — caretakers — who feed the fantastical notions of young minds with lies that cause permanent psychological and physical damage. The real child abusers are those who would purposely, intentionally, knowingly destroy what God created.
The bill is dubbed the “Kelly Loving Act.”
Right.
“Section 2 [of the bill] provides that, when making child custody decisions and determining the best interests of a child for purposes of parenting time, a court shall consider deadnaming, misgendering or threatening to publish material related to an individual’s gender-affirming health-care serves as types of coercive control,” a summary of the bill posted at Leg.Colorado.gov states.
“Sections 5 and 6 provide that a dress code adopted or implemented by a local education provider must not create or enforce any rules based on gender and must allow each student to abide by any variation of the dress code,” the summary continues.
In other words, boys who want to dress as girls at school cannot be prohibited from doing so — no, not even by administrators at private Christian schools who mandate boys’ uniforms for boys and girls’ uniforms for girls.
Section 7 requires public organizations to recognize an individual’s chosen name, even if it differs from the legal name. Sections 8 and 9 label “deadnaming and misgendering” as acts of discrimination, as defined by the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act. And let the punishments for such discrimination to flow accordingly.
This is normalizing crazy.
This is whitewashing evil.
Parents who allow their children to pretend to be the opposite sex that God gave them at birth ought to be deemed the child abusers; ought to be subject to social services’ scrutiny; ought to lose custody of their children before the harm they’re causing becomes permanent — before their children are given hormone therapies or allowed to go under the knife for sex-destroying surgical procedures.
Twenty years ago, the idea of telling a child he can become she, or they, or a kitty-cat, would be the stuff of madness. Taking him or her for surgery to supposedly alter his or her sex would be medical malpractice. And courts that recognized the madness and malpractice as right and proper would be nonexistent. But this evil has gone mainstream. It’s become normalized. It’s become normal.
Except it’s not.
And it must never be.
For the sake of children — for the sake of sanity and truth — those who would lie and pretend that sex is changeable, that sex is not ordained at birth, must always be called out for their evil. Child abuse is child abuse is child abuse, and no matter the spin of the day, harming children should never be tolerated.
