I appreciate what Judge Napolitano writes about Jesus’ resurrection and its significance, but I am surprised that he writes that “the Roman government crucified Jesus because it feared that by claiming to be the son of God, he might foment a political revolution.”

It is clear from the gospels that Pontius Pilate was trying to do everything in his power not to crucify Jesus, and only finally gave in when the Jewish authorities said that if he didn’t crucify Jesus, they would tell Caesar that Pontius Pilate was supporting a man who was claiming to be an earthly king, like Caesar.
