OPINION:
Mahmoud Khalil has no due process rights under American law (“Pressed for evidence against Mahmoud Khalil, government cites its power to deport people for beliefs,” Web, April 10). This adult male is not a citizen of the U.S. He is here on a student visa, a conditional privilege given on a limited basis subject to one’s continued lawful behavior.
Prior to his arrival to the U.S., Khalil had been a Palestinian-Syrian activist, protesting against Jews throughout the United Kingdom. Once here, he became involved in various violent, antisemitic demonstrations. In essence, Khalil is an apparent professional hate protestor funded by various international and domestic leftist organizations, including the Soros Group. His mission: to attack and
create turmoil among Israeli students in the U.S.
Speech advocating violence is not protected under the First Amendment, and Khalil’s violent actions against Israeli students are not speech, anyway. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, Secretary of State Rubio retains the discretionary authority and right to remove this individual from the country given his unlawful, violent actions.
Yet these leftist judges continue their efforts to stop President Trump and his administration from enforcing legally precedented executive branch policies. Their judicial mandates are no different from former Attorney General Garland’s methods to weaponize the law against conservatives.
The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals holding and Rubio’s authority to remove Khalil must stand forthwith.
