OPINION:
Thank goodness Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and his family were sleeping in a different part of the house when an arsonist attacked his home this past weekend (“Suspect in arson attack on Pennsylvania governor’s mansion arrested,” Web, April 13). However, there is no doubt that this was a hate crime and Shapiro was targeted because he is Jewish.
This is especially so since it happened on the first night of Passover. But in the meantime, Shapiro may as well thank his fellow left-wing radical Democrats, such as Jew-hating Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar and the king of self-hating Jews himself, George Soros, for fanning the flames of antisemitism.
Even though President Donald Trump is doing his best to end the unprecedented rise of antisemitism, the Jew haters are still chanting against and intimidating Jews. And though Shapiro is a Democrat, he is Jewish — so extremists consider him to be one of “them.”
My sincere hope is that the suspect in this case is quickly arrested and punished to the fullest extent of the law.
