Those who claim tariffs cause inflation know nothing about economics. The only thing that causes inflation is the government printing more money than is needed for goods and services. A little inflation allows the government to save money on its debt service. Too much inflation undermines trust in the currency. Either way, tariffs have no direct influence on “inflation.”

Reciprocal tariffs only punish those who tariff our goods. If you punch the nose of someone who punched yours first, are you punishing or reciprocating? Of course tariffs are a tax paid by the consumer. No corporation ever pays any tax. Taxes are an expense item on the corporate balance sheet. Every expense is paid for by the consumer, or the business goes belly up. If you do not want to pay a tariff, buy domestic products.
