Odd, isn’t it, that our government has shown so much concern for a woman with dual Turkish-American citizenship who put herself in danger by joining and leading protests against Israel while in a combat zone and was ultimately killed — yet it shows such little interest in the Americans kidnapped last Oct. 7 who remain prisoners of Hamas (“Israel says its forces likely unintentionally shot and killed an American activist in the West Bank,” web, Sept. 10).

In fact, we do not know whether they are dead or alive, although we do know that one was executed mafia-style just two weeks ago. I do not recall even one public statement about those American victims by President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Secretary of State Antony Blinken or any other member of the administration.

Just last week, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby showed us what the administration truly thinks of the people it is supposed to serve. He said there was “no use” in weighing in on the views of military veterans critical of the disastrous 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal.

Voting for Ms. Harris to continue the Biden legacy makes as much sense as hiring a thief to guard your bank.
