It is a terrifying wonder to see and read about the unadulterated enthusiasm antisemites exhibit during news interviews (“Activists accused of ‘desecrating 10/7’ with anti-Israel protests on anniversary of Hamas attack,” web, Oct. 6). Clinical studies revealing how these people’s minds work could be useful in tamping down this irrational, dangerous ideology in future generations.

Not aware of the historical context of this fever, zealots seek to begin another age of ethnic cleansing unlike anything seen since the 1930s. That some numb American politicians embrace the farcical idea of a two-state solution as a remedy for the current war against Israel ignore the stated ambition of these groups: to eliminate Jews “from the river to the sea.” Assuming success, who might they next target? Methodists? Small people? Anyone who is different?

They are the leading edge of a revivalist ideology too extreme to be ignored or tolerated. Voting against those who do either is our only choice.
