One day years ago, I was in a family-owned hardware store and I overheard a conversation between the owner and an employee, who was a little annoyed with the wealthier customers. The owner said, “It’s important to have their business, but I know how difficult doing business with the wealthy can be sometimes. If you are unhappy that they have too much money, remember that unfortunately, restrictions and excessive taxation on them will affect the money they spend for services, including subcontractors.”

Today, small and mid-sized businesses as well as many farmers are struggling with too much bureaucracy and stifling laws, in addition to high interest rates and reluctance by banks to loan them money.

When politicians start talking about punishing the wealthy and corporations with socialistic controls, remember that what goes around eventually comes around.
