Many people are asking why the United Nations did not immediately condemn Hamas’ ineffably barbarous attack upon innocent, defenseless Israeli civilians on Oct. 7 (“Seeking justice: UN’s troubling bias against Israeli women amid calls for accountability,” Web, March 6). Many way wonder, too, why the UN hasn’t called for Qatar to expel and stop shielding evil Hamas’ heinous leadership; why it hasn’t demanded that Hamas leaders and all those sheltering them face war crimes charges in the Hague or why it hasn’t called for an international peacekeeping force in Gaza.

I can tell you why the impotent, anti-Israel U.N. has simply sat on its hands. Because without U.S. soldiers dying by the tens of thousands, the U.N. can neither keep the peace between a blind man and his guide dog nor unite a pair of adolescent rabbits.
