Be careful what you wish for. The Democrats put all their eggs in the Biden basket and didn’t want any primary competition. Well, they got their wish. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. left the party and filed as an independent.

However, as The Washington Times reported Monday, even Mr. Kennedy’s sister thinks he may “torpedo President Biden’s reelection chances” (“RFK Jr.’s sister Rory raises concerns presidential run could bolster Trump in November,” web, March 25).

If the Democrats would quit playing kingmaker and let things run as Congress and the Constitution have set them up to run, this problem for Mr. Biden would have been handled in the primaries. But now, independent and disaffected Republican voters get to chime in and vote for anyone but Mr. Biden.

It will be interesting to see how they now handle one of the biggest legacies in the modern history of the Democratic Party.

Goodbye, Joe.
