Letter to the editor: Ireland is not in NATO

OPINION:

Michael McKenna is certainly correct in stating that a number of NATO members are not fulfilling their promise of spending 2% of their gross national product on defense (“Time to kick Europe out of NATO’s house,” web, March 23). We have no treaty obligation under NATO to protect Ireland.

Perhaps Mr. McKenna should brush up on his European history.
