The late President Ronald Reagan boldly referenced Russia as an “evil empire.” Former President George W. Bush classified Iran, Iraq and North Korea as an “axis of evil.”

The embodiment of evil is reformulating itself in the union of Russia and North Korea, both countries led by ruthless, murderous men who will stop at nothing in their drive to terrorize the rest of the world.

Engagement, diplomacy and sanctions have proved fruitless with Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un in efforts to implement world peace. Not even former President Donald Trump’s exchanging of complimentary letters or his falling “in love” with Mr. Kim led to progress.

President Biden and any president who follows him are certain to have their hands full as they attempt to navigate the challenge of hostile, heavily armed foreign powers whose ability to threaten us is intensifying.
