OPINION:
After bumbling his way through a press conference held to assure Democratic power brokers that President Biden has the mental acuity and stamina required to beat former President Donald Trump, several things were confirmed (“Gaffes take center stage of defensive Biden,” page 1, July 12).
One, Mr. Biden does not have the mental or intellectual capacity to beat Mr. Trump, and two, diversity, equity and inclusion has created a conundrum and a no-win situation for both its creators and our nation.
In 2019, Mr. Biden was unpopular and losing in early primaries until Rep. James Clyburn, South Carolina Democrat, pulled a classic Democratic maneuver: He agreed to use his influence to deliver his state in exchange for a Black female being put on the ticket. This is what gave us the current administration. Since Mr. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office in 2021, our country has been plagued with disastrous domestic and foreign policies. Our enemies are emboldened and our allies worried.
When Mr. Biden introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “President Putin” at the recent NATO summit, he indicated that he had complete confidence in “Vice President Trump” and said he would take guidance from his commander in chief, the situation only worsened.
The Democrats’ shenanigans have created quite the problem. Do they continue insisting that Mr. Biden is fit to run or do they try to convince us that Ms. Harris is an astute, hardworking, excellent alternative? As in most cases, DEI guarantees discrimination against the brightest and best, and assures that race, gender and/or sexual orientation determine who gets the job — regardless of ability or qualifications.
You can also be assured that the final decision will not be made by the voters or based on what’s best for our nation, but rather which choice they believe will keep them in power.
