A man working in a West Palm Beach, Florida, parking garage was hospitalized after an elevator came crashing down on top of him.
Firefighters were able to rescue the trapped man Thursday morning, and he’s expected to survive, the West Palm Beach Police Department posted on X.
Joseph Cassius, 48, suffered a head injury, police told WPEC-TV.
Mr. Cassius was under the elevator working when the elevator sprung a hydraulic fluid leak.
“Preliminarily, what we’ve been able to determine from the technician and the worker is that the technician was underneath the elevator working on it when as he was making adjustments, there was a release of hydraulic fluid, causing that car to come down on top of him,” police spokesperson Mike Jachles told WFLX-TV.
