Three boys were injured and another was left dead in Dallas Thursday morning after the 12-year-old driving the SUV they were in hit a tree.

The Dallas Police Department has not disclosed who owns the crashed car or how the boys got ahold of it.

Police told WBAP-TV that one passenger, another 12-year-old boy, died at the scene. The driver and two other passengers, an 11-year-old boy and a third 12-year-old boy, were hospitalized.

Witnesses told police that the car was speeding before the crash, according to WBAP-TV.

The brother of one of the surviving boys, who did not provide his name, told WFAA-TV that the driver was arguing with one of the passengers before someone yanked the wheel and the SUV went off the road and into a tree.
