Three construction workers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, were hospitalized Thursday after falling 15 feet from scaffolding.
The site of the accident was an unoccupied commercial property being built. The workers fell at around 8:30 a.m., Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Garrett Pingol told the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Officials have not identified the three workers. Two of them were hospitalized with serious, traumatic injuries, with the third transported with minor injuries.
“It is unknown at this time how the workers fell and if there was a scaffolding failure,” Chief Pingol told the Miami Herald.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified of the incident and will lead any investigation into the causes of the fall, according to Miami ABC affiliate WPLG-TV.
