The NFL drew 38.5 million viewers per game in this month’s playoffs, the largest average since the league began tracking data in 1988.
It was simply a command performance. During the time slots when playoff games aired, 53.3% of all TV viewers were watching, the NFL said in an announcement Tuesday.
The divisional and conference championship rounds saw their highest viewer numbers ever. The average for the former was 40 million per game, a 7% increase over 2023, while 56.1 million people watched each of the conference finals on average, 11% better than the previous season.
Next up is the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas.
The game will be aired at 6:30 p.m. on CBS, Nickelodeon, Paramount+ and Univision (in Spanish).
