OPINION:
It is disingenuous of Nikki Haley to play the blame game and suggest that she would somehow be immune to the underhanded dealings of the deep state and the proclivity of Republicans for shooting themselves in the foot (“On eve of N.H. primary, Haley warns against a Trump-Biden rematch,” web, Jan. 22).
Across the deep state, efforts of the Hunter Biden laptop deniers to protect Democratic interests continue unabated. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, Republicans stupidly pursued a national, 15-week ban on abortion — even though the court had ruled that control of abortion was not a constitutionally enumerated power of the federal government.
Thus decided, Republicans somehow failed to comprehend that the court would have to overturn any federal effort to usurp states’ rights over abortion. Foolishly posturing Republicans simply failed to accept the gift: The court had taken the issue of abortion off the table at the federal level.
But what would Ms. Haley have done to control the mainstream media, the deep state and extremists from both parties?
