OPINION:
The Jan. 6, 2021 “insurrection” is a fiction.
Any rational person must realize by now that the U.S. government was in no danger of being taken over that day. Any liberal with brain wave activity wouldn’t bet a latte on it having been a true insurrection. Nevertheless, the fable lives on.
Because much of the mainstream media has played along with this fairy tale, the political left gets to maintain this farce with virtually nothing to back it up. What occurred was essentially a riot at the curiously unprotected Capitol. Government agencies that should have been on high alert did little to decelerate the mayhem.
So now we have desperate Democratic legislators trying to take Donald Trump off their states’ ballots using an obscure technicality based on a lie. This unprecedented action breaks new ground in the history of political shenanigans.
Once our Constitution has effectively been discarded to protect a political party’s hold on power, the levy has been breached. The most shameful tactics ever to occur in presidential politics are now being played out. The Democrats have scrapped any pretense of running a respectable and aboveboard campaign because the truth has been unkind to them.
