OPINION:
It is tragic but no fault of Texas that three migrants — a mother and two children — drowned last week in the Rio Grande (“Texas congressman says migrants drowned near area where U.S. Border Patrol had access restricted,” web, Jan. 13).
Migrants have been risking their lives and the lives of their children to make the dangerous journey across the border ever since President Biden took office. There are bound to be such sad deaths. But when they do occur, it’s the knee-jerk reaction of the Biden administration to blame Texas, because it refuses to be a “sanctuary state.”
If anyone besides the risk-taking migrants are to blame, it’s Biden himself for having thrown open the southern border and inviting anyone and everyone — including terrorists and drug cartels — to enter the United States. This is just one more reason to impeach Mr. Biden.
