OPINION:
The Iowa caucuses are the beginning of a process that enables our nation to reset its priorities and values. During the Biden administration, we have learned the true meaning of “progressive” politics, which many voters (including me) never really understood.
Nor did most of us realize to what degree we had been deceived by these politics. Progressive ideas sound nice, and the notion of expanding inclusion has merit.
Unfortunately, installed concepts such as diversity, equity and inclusion and “wokeism” have caused a boomerang effect that has created chaos, not clarity. They are based on a state of denial in which people are not held accountable for their actions and everyone is expected to ignore what’s before their eyes in favor of leftist narratives.
We should consider this election cycle as a chance to free ourselves from deception by the so-called progressives and their policies. According to these policies, segregation and division of our society along political and social categories is the answer to what ails us. That makes me either an extremist or a racist. I am neither.
A better term for such ideas is regressive. The Biden administration has regressed our foreign policy, as well as fairness in sports and rules in the workplace. Mainstream TV news networks are complicit.
Our elections are the best tool to reverse and end this administration’s policies. This November is our chance to kick progressivism to the curb, and I hope we take it.
