Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley said she’s the only option to stop a “Trump-Biden nightmare” after coming in third in the Iowa caucuses Monday.

“Our campaign is the last best hope of stopping the Trump-Biden nightmare,” the former South Carolina governor said. “But it’s more than that. Republicans have lost the popular vote in seven of the last eight presidential elections. That’s nothing to be proud of. We should want to earn support of a majority of Americans.”

Results showed that former President Donald Trump won the state hands down with 51%. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis grabbed the second spot with 21.2%, followed by Ms. Haley with 19.1%.

In her speech, she said the results in Iowa “made this Republican primary a two-person race,” completely dissing Mr. DeSantis.

“At one point in this campaign, there were 14 of us running. I was at 2% in the polls. But tonight, Iowa did what Iowa does so well. The pundits will analyze the results from every angle,” she said. “But when you look at how we are doing in New Hampshire, in South Carolina and beyond, I think we can safely say tonight Iowa made this Republican primary a two-person race.”

Next up is the Jan. 23 primary in New Hampshire, where the former U.N. ambassador has been polling closer to the former president’s numbers. She has the endorsement of the state’s governor, Chris Sununu.

“And as we head to New Hampshire, I have one more thing to say: Underestimate me. That’s always fun,” she said.
