Our economy is in crisis mode, and the warning signs are stranger than you think.

It’s no secret that inflation’s chokehold on our economy suffocates the average American. But now we know that inflation has also affected the average grocery bill.

At the start of the year, Golden Corral released a video advertisement featuring a couple dining in their restaurant. In six short seconds, buffet fried chicken and buttered rolls showed the harsh reality of our nation’s economy.

The reality? International corporations are capitalizing on the inflation, which is knocking out our small businesses and local farms.

When I was a kid, going out to dinner was a treat. A family restaurant dinner was a privilege saved for special occasions.

I wish I could turn a blind eye to the reasons why taking my family out to eat has become more affordable than our grocery bill, but something seems too good to be true.

Reports show that industry giants are perpetuating inflation. As inflation costs began to drop, corporations continued to jack up their prices. Corporate profit margins are so large that out-of-touch companies soar above national inflation damages and make us pay the repercussions.

How amazing that our economy is so horrendous; companies are advertising on national television that it is cheaper to take your entire family out to eat than it is to buy groceries.

If that wasn’t convincing enough, high-profit margins have begun to backfire. Companies are now advertising inflation-proof financing, meaning that because our economy is so bad, corporations are willing to pay you to buy from them.

However, even inflation-proof financing appears to be more of a cheap shortcut than a sustainable solution. For example, an inflation-proof pension sounds enticing until you find it takes billions in tax dollars to fund.

You might be asking yourself, how did we end up here?

I’ll tell you.

It’s Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ America.

This administration is running this country’s economy into the ground, leaving us with higher taxes and smothered green beans.

The Biden-Harris administration is watching idly as small businesses crumble and corporations scramble to find whatever pennies we have left.

It is time to win America back.

While we wait for the polls to open, I’ll probably take advantage of an affordable family dinner.

At least in the South, a little fried chicken never hurt anybody.
