OPINION:
I was walking back to my office this week when protest marches against the Democratic National Convention disrupted me. I heard chants and saw signs reading “Kill the Jews” and “No genocide.” Am I in America?
My mom, a senior citizen, is at a loss for words and stopped watching TV coverage of the convention. Why do local officials continue to allow this hate-speech march, which is not protected by the First Amendment? The display of hatred is a strong contrast between this convention and the recent Republican National Convention. Now that both events have concluded, the differences are apparent: The Democrats’ message is based on deception, while the Republicans’ is based on transparency and accountability.
The Democratic convention speakers made no substantive points and gave no specifics while they spewed lies. For example, recent job numbers were over-reported by 818,000, but the Democrats patted themselves on the back for record recent job creation. The Republicans allowed private citizens the chance to share their experiences of economic and family suffering that resulted from the Democrats’ terrible policies, such as the killings of Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray.
Vice President Kamala Harris will continue, if not worsen, President Biden’s policies of the past four years. The Democrats have blamed the Trump administration for the border while allowing in millions of illegals and insisted that former President Donald Trump is a threat to a democracy while embracing economic, social and criminal policies that have spread suffering.
They tell us our public education failures can be solved with more money, not the accountability of administrators. They claim to support Israel, but they allow Hamas supporters to condemn the Jewish nation with hate-filled protests.
We need policies that reflect voters’ desires for the country, not policies based on identity politics.
