OPINION:
There is no reasonable comparison of Joe Biden to Donald Trump. If the Democrats were running Soupy Sales, he would be vastly preferable to Mr. Trump.
If you are an eligible voter — Democrat, Republican, independent, whatever — you have an interest in the nation being run effectively and properly. So you really have an obligation to choose the best candidate and then vote. Not voting is a thumb on the nose to the democracy this nation purports to stand for. And recommending not voting is outrageous.
Many did not vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016 because they figured she’d win anyway. Those nonvotes were effectively votes for Mr. Trump, and look where that got us.
Not voting in 2024 is effectively a vote for the single worst presidential candidate in our history.
