Sweat, Young brush off trade talk ahead of NFL deadline

Commanders defensive ends Montez Sweat and Chase Young said they won’t let rumors distract them as next Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline approaches.

Both have been the subject of speculation as the Commanders have stagnated over the past three weeks.

The Washington Post reported that an unnamed team had already made an offer for Sweat.

“I can only control what I can control,” he told reporters in Ashburn on Thursday. “I’ve definitely enjoyed my time here with the guys on the d-line, the people on the team. But I understand it’s a business.”
