I have asked myself how members of “the Squad” can continue promoting lies about the Gaza hospital bombing, especially Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar.

Undoubtedly, Ms. Tlaib and Ms. Omar are merely voicing the feelings of their constituents.

It’s a sad commentary on the effects of recent immigration of large numbers of Muslims for humanitarian reasons. Seeking and being granted asylum here, they brought with them their indoctrinated animosity. As with prior waves of immigrants, they have settled in unassimilated communities, the result of which is the election of representatives like some in “the Squad.”

At one time, we could at least hope those hatreds would be extinguished in the next generation, as its members attend school and are tutored in the duties and rewards of being American citizens.

Instead, those first-generation Americans attending our public schools are being taught to despise our government and are being reinforced in their parents’ anti-Israel Jew hatred. They attend schools that not only downplay the Holocaust (if they teach it at all) and paint the U.S. and Israel and “colonialists” and “imperialists.”

We will never save our country until we reform our schools. Public schools must reinstitute the teaching of civics, and teachers must promote love of our country. As imperfect is we are, we continue to work toward becoming a “more perfect union.”

The U.S. political system, as created, still stands as an example to follow, but for how much longer is the question.

A society that teaches its youth to hate their country is a society that is committing suicide.
