OPINION:
Large numbers of individuals in our country are cheering (and thus condoning) the indescribable, barbaric slaughter of Israeli citizens by Hamas (“Pro-Palestinian protesters decry U.S. ’hypocrisy,’ question veracity of gruesome photos,” web, Oct. 14).
The killing and mutilation of women, the elderly and children — including infants — is apparently no deterrent to the celebrants. That those who were murdered, and apparently some of those who were taken hostage, include American citizens is also of no concern to these terrorist supporters.
It should also be noted that Rep. Rashida Tlaib, one of several overt antisemites in Congress, proudly displays a Palestinian flag in front of her Capitol building office.
It is unfathomable to me how students at many universities — including such notable ones as Harvard, Columbia and New York University — can enthusiastically support these killers and get little or no rebuke from school administrators or faculty.
Hopefully potential donors to such institutions will remember this.
