OPINION:
In Israel, military service is mandatory for most citizens. Yet these people who are trained in arms are not allowed to have weapons once they become civilians again.
Had Israel’s citizens been armed, the Hamas attacks wouldn’t have had a fraction of the severity they did. Perhaps they would not have happened at all.
This should be a lesson for all Western countries.
