Many Democratic and Republican officeholders would never use antisemitism as an organizing principle, but others would and are — some as a cynical vote-getting ploy, others because they are true believers (“Biden and Democrats must stop embracing antisemitism,” web, Nov. 6).

As we have seen in the wake of the Hamas terrorist massacre in Israel, Jew hatred is a vibrant factor in our society, especially among supposedly intelligent students who are ignorant of many seminal historical events. Some Democratic members of Congress are every bit the bitter bigots that Charles Coughlin and Henry Ford were. These men were as famous for their antisemitism as for their achievements.

As the deadly poison of Jew hatred seeps further into our society, these Democratic members of Congress will herd the bigots into voting groups and put paid to the party’s decades-long fellowship with Jewish Americans.
