Police in Maryland said two children were struck and killed while walking to grade school Monday morning in Riverdale.
Riverdale police said the two victims were hit at about 8 a.m. near the intersection of Riverdale and Taylor roads — the corner where Riverdale Elementary School is located.
The children, who weren’t identified, died while being treated at a hospital.
Prince George’s County Police said the driver remained at the scene.
The investigation into the crash — and whether or not charges will be brought against the driver — is still ongoing.
Local ABC affiliate WJLA-TV reported that the suspected driver was affiliated with the school in some way.
