OPINION:
Calling for Israel to initiate a cease-fire with Hamas in Gaza is not just immoral; it goes against all common sense. The Hamas terrorists in Gaza now seem to have lost most of their ability to initiate large-scale attacks. They have been forced to move from offense to defense thanks to Israel’s ground operation.
What’s more, Hamas has never in its history honored a single cease-fire. Not one. If Israel were to begin a cease-fire now, even a short one, it would be like the allies stopping their advance immediately after D-Day during World War II, thus giving the Nazi army the opportunity to refortify.
In the end, a cease-fire would only prolong the war — and no one should want that.
