Police hunt for active shooter in Atlanta; multiple people wounded

Police in Atlanta were searching Wednesday for a gunman who wounded multiple people at a medical building in the midtown area.

The shooter opened fire at Northside Hospital Midtown medical office building on West Peachtree Street, prompting a massive police response.

“We are aware of multiple people injured,” city police tweeted at 12:42 p.m. “No suspect is in custody.”

Police were asking people in the immediate area to shelter in place.
