OPINION:
“Dobbs ruling pushes states to extremes on abortion legislation” (page 1, May 15) is a comprehensive report on the status of abortion legislation in U.S. states.
When discussing abortion legislation, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that we are discussing the death of preborn human beings who can feel pain by 20 weeks’ gestation and very likely much earlier. They are human from the moment of conception when all their physical characteristics are determined.
Unfortunately, in Democratic-controlled states, the pain inflicted on the pre-born is of no concern. They want babies killed throughout gestation, even up to birth. And they want any baby who survives an abortion to be cruelly left to die without medical intervention.
These states reflect the barbaric position of congressional Democrats who voted against legislation to provide medical care to babies who survive a killing.
Democrat is now synonymous with death.
