OPINION:
Political scientists, Wall Street and Davos elites, and leftist university professors all tell my generation that America’s downfall is imminent.
They beg us to buy their narrative that the Bill of Rights has been stretched to the limits of societal acceptability and soaring development is structurally unsustainable in a digital economy.
These terminal pessimists insist that there is nothing systemically or spiritually exceptional about America.
Domestically, we are dictated to by multinational corporations and communist kleptocrats who say the Chinese model of global governance is here to stay.
They prefer the style of the Chinese Communist Party as yet another mechanism to plunder our wealth and diminish our dignity.
Now, on the eve of the 247nd anniversary of American independence, it is absolutely crucial to negate these nihilistic notions with three simple words: America is young. The U.S. is a mere adolescent among the community of nations.
In this system of states, China may be compared to an elderly, malignant narcissist. Russia is an abusive, alcoholic uncle.
While our enemies belong to yesterday, America belongs to tomorrow.
Those who hate our founding and wish to set fire to our future conveniently forget the fact that we are still flourishing despite current tribulations.
Take it from someone who knows: We will triumph over the tyranny of our identity crisis and emerge stronger than ever.
We are not condemned to a dead end of decline. In fact, our democratic republic is destined for a millennium of miracles.
