OPINION:
If you purchased a candy bar recently, you may have noticed that the packaging appears to be the usual, full size but the content is smaller and it costs more.
High rates of inflation resulting from unrelated political policies are responsible. It is a classic case of doctrinaire management, in which fixed beliefs are pursued without regard for practical consequences.
Ideologically biased local school board actions have had similar unwanted effects, with student test scores declining while educational costs and supporting taxes have increased.
The time has come for our children and grandchildren to stop being indoctrinated as if they were school board sweet treats.
Practical, real-world impacts must be reintroduced into school board decision-making by replacing the current doctrinaire-driven members with experienced candidates who have a good grip on reality.
