Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to China has brought shame upon our republic (“U.S. sees opportunity as Beijing’s bluster drives neighbors into new alliances,” web, June 19).

We swore to stand by Taiwan, but instead our current administration has kowtowed to the Chinese government, once again turning away from an ally.

We watch as our enemies buy up land in our country close to our military bases, and our government carries on as if everything is fine. Could it be they have ties to these merchants of terror?

Our country is in decline from those consuming all the power and money they can gain at our expense. Now we watch men pretending to be women and women pretending to be men.

They indoctrinate grade school students with drag queen story hour and tell them it’s fine to change your gender, but don’t tell your parents.

They defile our religious beliefs while carrying out their perverted acts. We are told to use the “preferred” pronouns when addressing a person’s new gender.

Have we passed the point of no return?

Every day we watch the government strip away our rights and freedoms. Our Constitution is disregarded. Our flag can be burned or torn without a word because that’s freedom of speech. But heaven forbid a pride flag is burned or torn; you can be arrested.

This is what happens when people abandon God. The sand in the hourglass of freedom is quickly running out.
